Cooking & New Year's Eve in Southern Italy
If you'd like to visit this new place before it's discovered by everyone else, this is your chance! Wonderful, scenic Puglia/Apulia - the unspoiled heel of the Italian boot which has been heralded as “the new Tuscany.”
The “Cooking and New Year's Eve" tour of Puglia features luxury accommodation in a beautiful 16th century manor house owned by a baron whose family has inhabited it for five centuries. Days are filled with cooking lessons in traditional Puglian cuisine under the guidance of a professional chef in one of the castle’s many fully-equipped kitchens, visits to local markets, shops, farms and picturesque Baroque, Byzantine and medieval villages where time passes at a different pace and the streets are not jammed with tourists.
One day, there’s a hand-made pasta class in the garden by the swimming pool. The next, wine-tasting at a nearby vineyard, then a visit to a mozzarella farmhouse.
Puglia is home to the true Mediterranean Cuisine with an emphasis on seafood , vegetables, olive oil - doesn't get much better. It ranks #1 in production of Olive Oil and wine, #2 in almond production. When the almond trees are in bloom the air is rich with the sweet scent.
The tours includes luxury accommodations, buffet breakfast daily, restaurant lunches, dinners at the villa or a neighboring castle, cooking classes, excursions, all transfers (including to and from the airport) and daily room cleaning service.
